Has the OccupyWallStreet movement created an American Spring?
Has the revolution reached America?
Is it coming to a nieghborhood near you
Working class American people are tired of being ignored, all across America, peaceful protest, tent cities, marches, union rallies have sprouted up. Activist young and old have taken to the streets and are voicing their biggest concerns about the economy, corporate greed, and the lack of unemployment. The movement is spreading quickly from its humble beginnings on Wall Street, inspiring cities like Saint Louis, Chicago, Houston and many other places that have been OCCUPIED by 99% movement.
But what do protestors want?
Change they really can believe in?
We were promised change in 2008, and we got a pocketful of it, and thats all. Occupiers are fed up! Many of them want jobs, a way out of poverty, good living wages, the wars to stop and our troops to come back home, lower taxes for the poor higher taxes for the rich, better schools, safer neighborhoods, more hospitals, no more bank bailouts, an end to corporate greed, but most importantly they want big brother government and the 1 % of the richest people to live up to their moral obligations to society.
How Long will they OCCUPY?
Until their needs are met….hopefully………or until they are arrested….
“No jobs, No Justice”?
99%ers’ are fed up with corporate greed, sky rocketing unemployment, the gap between poor and rich. The way I see it, They should be mad, It’s their right to live in a world where everyone has a “ a standard of living adequate of for the health and well-being of ourselves and our family, including food, clothing ,housing, and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness ,disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond our control” and not just the 1%. We are losing or for some of us we have lost our good “standard of living”, this is why the 99%ers’ are OCCUPYING AMERICA, so stand up HIP-HOP and OCCUPY your community.
Do you want Change?
I know I do!
Now is the time for change! We were promised change and we haven’t got it yet. Those of us who are tired of waiting are now taking it to the streets.
Who are the 99%?
Without a named leader but with a strong voice, they are a group of people who see the world with shared values; they don’t care too much about race or ethnicity, gender, age, creed, religion. They just want change!
Civil Disobedience
I applaud the OCCUPIERS for being non-violent peaceful group. Chaos causes confusion, we all have learned through the civil rights movement that you don’t have to use violence as an agent for change. American voices care being heard through peaceful demonstrations and marches, key people are taking notice and starting to listen, OCCUPIERS you they hear you loud and clear.
We shall overcome! Be inspired by the dream!
One of the most outspoken icons in American history who changed this country for the better, Martin Luther King Jr. will be honored in our nation’s capital. This historical event will surely give the non-violent peaceful OCCUPIERS a reason to stand strong and join hearts and hands all across America for change. MLK had a vision that all Americans would fight together hand and hand not separate by class or race, how wonderful that on this day such a movement will be happening, making the dream come true.
Take a stand today 99%ers’ !
It’s our right to have jobs! Articles 23 section 1 and 2 of the UN charter on Human Rights, it states that “everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment” OCCUPY AMERICA until our government makes a true commitment to human rights.
